Certification with OMWBE workshops

To address disparities for historically underutilized businesses owned by minority, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, the City of Tacoma’s Equity in Contracting (EIC) team is hosting a workshop on OMWBE certification. The following items will be covered:

Workshop 101

  • Learn about Federal and State Certification
  • Understand what is best for your business
  • Learn the documents to bring for 201 class
  • Ask questions to experts to get started towards becoming a certified firm and opening your business up to more contracting opportunities

Workshop 201

  • Bring financial statements and paperwork required for certification process
  • Bring laptop/electronic device and start the certification process while experts are near to answer questions and assist in moving past previous barriers

Join us for a VIRTUAL 101 Zoom class on June 12 that will get you prepared for the 201 class on June 27. You will need your laptop or electronic device (not required but strongly encouraged to get the most out of this class) and financial statements for an in-person, 2-hour workshop where experts are on site to assist with the certification process.

For questions about this workshop or to request information in an alternate format, please contact Linda Cerna at Lcerna@cityoftacoma.org or (253) 591-5826.
