RFP: Statewide Clinician Education Activities

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The contractor will educate clinicians on best practices for treating acute, subacute, and chronic pain and for prescribing opioids, following CDC guidelines. Trainings will be developed and conducted through various channels, including workgroups and social media. Additionally, the contractor will train clinicians on screening, diagnosis, and treatment of opioid and stimulant use disorders, focusing on culturally- and trauma-informed approaches. Technical assistance will be provided to clinicians as needed. The goals include informing clinical practice, addressing inequities in care, and offering continuing medical education credits. Data collection and evaluation will support ongoing improvement, with regular progress reports and communication with DOH and CDC staff.

BIDDER ELIGIBILITY: The Washington State Department of Health is seeking qualified contractor(s) contractors to implement evidence-based clinician education activities under the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) Cooperative Agreement. This initiative aims to reduce the incidence of substance-involved morbidity and mortality in Washington State by educating and training clinicians on best practices for treating pain, prescribing opioids, and diagnosing and addressing substance use disorders.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:  The period of performance of any contract(s) resulting from this RFP shall be Date of Execution through August 31, 2025, Amendments extending the period of performance, if any, shall be at the sole discretion of DOH.
