Mass. Electric Construction Company (MEC) is preparing to respond to the Request for Proposals issued by Seattle City Light (a department within the City of Seattle) to provide design-build services for the delivery of the Broad Street Substation Switchgear Replacement Project.

TThe project includes permitting, design, and construction services to demolish and remove the existing metal-clad switchgear to replace with arc-resistant switchgear compatible with the existing substation infrastructure.

In addition, the scope includes services to structurally infill the existing structure accommodate the reduced footprint of the new switchgear to match the existing structure and building envelope.
