The Port of Olympia solicits sealed bids for the construction of the Marine Drive Heavy Haul Freight Corridor Restoration, funded in part by the Washington State Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board (FMSIB) and local matching funds.

Project Overview:
This project will consist of removing all existing material (asphalt or granular base) between the curb & gutters of the roadway prism for approximately 0.47 miles (Approx. 2,500 Linear Feet). Excavated areas will then have sub base compacted before 6-inches of Crushed Surface Base Course and 6-inches of HMA CL ½ In. PG58V-22 are laid down. In addition, the project will include updating all existing pedestrian ramps to meet ADA compliance.

Project Details:
All work must be completed within 45 days from the Notice to Proceed. This is a public works project subject to prevailing wage rates under Chapter 39.12 RCW.

Plans and Specifications:
Electronic bid documents will be available beginning July 7, 2025, at https://portolympia.bonfirehub.com/. Contractors must register via the portal to be placed on the Plan Holder’s List. Addenda and project updates will be issued only through the portal.

Bid Security:
All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or cashier’s check in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount.

Apprenticeship Utilization Requirements:

This project is subject to no less than 15 percent of the total reported labor hours to be performed by apprentices.

DBE and EEO Requirements:
The Port encourages participation by minority- and women-owned firms.
