Whidbey Telecom is seeking proposals from qualified licensed professionals, licensed and certified by the State of Washington and the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries to perform engineering services for a fiber optic middle mile infrastructure project. This project is funded by Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) No. NTIA-MMG-2-2022, Middle Mile Grant Program, authorized by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, Division F, Title IV, Section 60401, Public Law 117-58, 135 Stat. 429 (November 15, 2021).

Whidbey Telecom is facilitating the Point Roberts Middle Mile Infrastructure project to construct a fiber optic middle mile infrastructure network. The goal of this subproject is to construct a portion of the overall project, totaling 0.71 miles (3,750 feet) of new terrestrial underground fiber optic middle mile infrastructure spanning from Admiral Drive to Race Road, in Whidbey Island Washington.

The primary objective of this Request for Proposals is to engage and retain a Construction Company who has the required experience, qualifications, and labor resources available to complete this construction phase of the fiber network construction project. All work performed on this project is subject to compliance with federal prevailing wage rates (Davis-Bacon Act). Whidbey Telecom is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
