KCLS REIMAGINING SPACES-INTERIOR REDESIGN AT KENT LIBRARY

The King County Library System (KCLS) is one of the busiest library systems in the country, serving 1.2 million residents through 48 staffed community libraries, an institutional library, 17 mobile service vehicles. The KCLS service area encompasses 2,100 square miles of rural, suburban and urban King County surrounding, but not including the City of Seattle, serving 36 municipalities and 18 school districts. KCLS employs over 900 full-time and part-time staff, and circulates over 21 million print, media and electronic items each year.

Established in 1942, per RCW 27.12.040 KCLS is a special purpose taxing district that is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees and operates under the constitution and laws of the State of Washington. 

The King County Rural Library District dba King County Library System (KCLS) requests the submittal of statement of qualifications from architectural-engineering teams for the following project:

Interior redesign of spaces using provided style and design guides for the public and staff areas in the existing 22,600 SF.

All submitters must create a FREE account to view or submit for this Project ID - 2026-RFQ-022.

Pre-Submittal Meeting (optional): February 13, 2026 – Site Visit from 8:00AM to 10:00AM, Kent Library, 212 2nd Ave N, Kent, WA. To attend, RSVPs are required to Purchasing@kcls.org by Thursday, February 12, by 12:00PM.

Qualifications must be submitted by: 
•    3:00PM, Friday, February 20, 2026 

Proposals submitted after the time and date specified will not be considered.  

No proposer may withdraw their proposal after the proposal submission deadline.

King County Library System reserves the right to reject any and all proposals for any reason or no reason, to waive informalities and irregularities, to reject any proposal not confirming to the intent and purpose of the RFQ.
