SEALED BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED UNTIL 1:00 PM, ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 2, 2019, at the Pierce County Council Office, 10th Floor, Room 1046, County-City Building, 930 Tacoma Avenue South, Tacoma, WA 98402 for Pierce County Crisis Stabilization Center, BID # 19-080.

Bids received after the date and time above stated will not be considered. Immediately following the 1:00 PM deadline for submission, bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the County Council Chambers. Bids must be submitted on the forms provided.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION – BASIC WORK:

Construction of a single-story approximately 9,666 sq. ft. facility with a wood and steel framed structure founded on concrete spread footings, with concrete slab on grade, with masonry veneer and fiber cement siding exterior, aluminum storefront windows, aluminum windows, single-ply roofing system, plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler system, electrical system, fire alarm system, phone/data system, security system and all associated site work.

The work proposed includes all the necessary *permits, fees, materials, equipment, labor, and related items to construct new structure located at 11405 Bob Findlay Rd. E East, Tacoma, WA 98445.

This project is federally funded with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), CDFA number 14.218, Grant number B-18-UC-53-0002, through the Pierce County CDBG program administered by Pierce County Department Human Services, Community Development Division and is subject to Title 24 CFR 570 and the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations as applicable.

Minority and/or Women Owned Businesses and Section 3 (24CFR135) Contractors are encouraged to submit bids. Contractors shall not be discriminated against on grounds of sex, race, color, age, religion, national origin, disability, or other protected classes. Contractors are encouraged to hire apprentices and Section 3 residents and are encouraged to consider minority and women owned businesses as potential subcontractors and material suppliers for this project. ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE:

Engineer’s estimate range is $4,000,000 - $4,300,000 plus Washington State Sales Tax

CONTRACT DOCUMENTS:

Plans and specifications may be viewed and are available from Pierce County Procurement & Contract Services at: https://www.piercecountywa.gov/5260/Current-Solicitations. BIDDERS WHO REGISTER AND DOWNLOAD BID DOCUMENTS will be automatically added to the bidder’s list in the ProcureWare Bidding Software. Notifications for bid updates, addendum and other bid information will be sent to all bidders who register with Pierce County ProcureWare and are a ‘Bidder’ under this bid number. PRE-BID MEETING AND SITE EXAMINATION:

A PRE-BID WALK-THROUGH WILL BE HELD AT the project site, located at 11405 Bob Findlay Road E, Tacoma, WA 98445, JULY 17, 2019, AT 10:00 AM. The walk-through is anticipated to take approximately two hours and will include all work areas involved in the project. Bidders shall meet at Building #1, 1420 112th St E, Tacoma, WA 98445.

 

PREVAILING WAGES:

This project is subject to the higher of Washington State and Federal Prevailing Wages and Labor Standards as described in the Prevailing Wage section of this bid packet. See the Contract Compliance Procedures for Public Works Projects included in the specifications.
