Sealed bid proposals will be accepted for the following project:

PROJECT:                              CWU Police Cruiser Canopy

 

SCOPE:                                  The project consists of the design and installation of a Pre-fabricated Carport Canopy (approx. 75’-0” x 30’-0”) on the campus of CWU in Ellensburg, Washington.  Estimated project cost is $35,000 – $45,000.

 

PREBID CONFERENCE:       The Project site is available for inspection by prospective bidders at a pre-bid conference and walk-through on Thursday, January 16, 2020 convening at Room 116, Jongeward Plant Services Building, 205 East 11th Avenue, at 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time.  Attendance at this pre-bid meeting is recommended but not mandatory as there will be limited opportunity for bidders to visit the Project site and ask questions concerning the Project subsequent to the meeting.

 

TIME/DATE/LOCATION:       Sealed Bids will be received prior to 3:00 PM Pacific Time, Thursday, January 23, 2020 at CWU’s Jongeward Plant Services Building, located at 205 E. 11th Avenue, Ellensburg 98926. Bids received after the day and hour above stated will not receive consideration and will be time/date stamped and returned to bidder unopened.  Shortly after 3:00 PM Pacific Time, bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud.

The State of Washington prevailing wage rates are applicable for this public works project located in Kittitas County.  Bidders are responsible to verify and use the most recent prevailing wage rates.  The “Effective Date” for this project is the Bid Proposal due date above.  The applicable prevailing wage rates may be found on the Department of Labor and Industries website located at https://fortress.wa.gov/lni/wagelookup/prvWagelookup.aspx.

 

CWU is committed to providing the maximum practicable opportunity for participation by disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE).  DBE are defined as; small business, microbusiness, mini-business, minority owned business (MBE), and women owned business (WBE), as defined in RCW 39.26.010 and veteran-owned businesses as defined in RCW 43.60A.010. 

 

CWU strongly encourages contractors to work with DBE to meet or exceed CWU’s goals for each project of MBE 10%, WBE 6%, WA Small Business 5% and WA Veterans 5% participation. Upon request by CWU, contractor will be required to provide a report of the actual inclusion efforts undertaken to utilize DBE for any CWU goods and services contracted.  Achievement of the goals is encouraged.  No preference will be included in the evaluation of bids/proposals, no minimum level of DBE participation shall be required as a condition for receiving an award or completion of the contract works, and bids/proposals will not be rejected or considered non-responsive on that basis.
