CALL FOR BIDS

 

OLYMPIA UNION GOSPEL MISSION

 

GENESIS ACRES SEWER

ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE $150,000

 

 

Sealed Proposals will be received by the undersigned at the Olympia Union Gospel 309 Washington Street NE, Olympia, WA 98501, up to 3:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, October 3, 2019, for furnishing the necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, and guarantees thereof to construct Genesis Acres Sewer.

 

The Project will include the following work. Installation of approximately: 293 lf of 6” & 8” PVC Main Line Sewer; 3 ea Sanitary Sewer Manholes; 177 lf of 6” Side Sewers; 713 lf of 4” PVC Side Sewer; 1 ea small package lift station; 95 lf of  2” PVC force main;  110 tn of asphalt pavement.

 

The Work shall be substantially complete within 60 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed.  Liquidated Damages are $100/day.  All bidding and construction is to be performed in compliance with the Contract Provisions and Contract Plans for this project and any addenda issued thereto that are on file at the office of the Olympia Union Gospel Mission.

 

The Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud shortly after the time and date stated above.  Proposals are to be submitted only on the form provided with the Bid Documents.  All Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, postal money order, cashier’s check, or Proposal bond payable to the “Olympia Union Gospel Mission” and in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Proposal amount.

 

Bid Documents may be examined at the office of the Olympia Union Gospel Mission.  Bid Documents for this project are available free-of-charge on-line by contacting the Project Engineer. Financing of the Project has been provided by Olympia Union Gospel Mission, Washington, Thurston County Community Development Block Grant Program with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. 

 

The Olympia Union Gospel Mission expressly reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive minor irregularities or informalities and to Award the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interests of the Olympia Union Gospel Mission.

The sample Agreement in the specification indicates a working time of 40 days and liquidated damages of $500/day.  This is in conflict with the Call for Bids that indicates working time of 60 days and liquidated damages of $100/day.

The working days and liquidated damages called for in the Call for Bids is correct.  The agreement that will be executed will reflect 60 working days and $100/day.

 

The Bidder’s Checklist indicates that a Certificate of Insurance form is attached.  There is no Insurance Certificate attached.  A standard Certificate of Insurance from your carrier is acceptable provided it meets the criteria specified in the WSDOT Standard Specifications referenced.
