Plans, specifications, addenda, bidders list, and plan holders list for this project are available through Builders Exchange of Washington.  Free-of-charge access is provided by going to http://bxwa.com and clicking on: Posted Projects, Public Works, Pierce County, and Projects Bidding.  Bidders are encouraged to “Register” in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the self-registered “Bidders List”.

 

It is the sole responsibility of the Bidder to obtain Addenda, if any.  Addenda information will be available on the Builders’ Exchange of Washington website, and on the Pierce County website.  Pierce County accepts no responsibility or liability and will provide no accommodation to bidders who fail to check for Addenda and submit inadequate or incomplete proposals.

 

Hardcopy or CD of the plans and specifications may be purchased by mail by sending a check in the amount of $55.00 ($50.00 contract cost plus $5.00 mailing cost) for hard copy or $16.00 ($15.00 CD plus $1.00 mailing cost) for CD to:

Description of Work:

 

This contract provides for the improvement of Canyon Road East from 99th Street Court East to 84th Street East. Canyon Road East from 96th Street East to 84th Street East will be widened to a 5-lane roadway section with two through lanes in each direction and a two-way left-turn lane, with paved shoulders and cement concrete traffic curb, gutter, and sidewalk on each side. Canyon Road East from 99th Street Court East to 96th Street East will be widened to a 4-lane roadway section with paved shoulders, asphalt concrete barrier curb on the west side, and cement concrete traffic curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the east side. Improvements also include new traffic signal systems at 96th Street East and 84th Street East, street lighting, an enclosed drainage system, stormwater treatment and storage facilities, and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.

 

Pierce County , in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S. C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
