Univ. of Washington, Invitation To Bid, Mattresses, Summer 2022
The University of Washington Housing & Food Services (HFS) is seeking bids for a total of 1,669 new coil innerspring mattresses to be manufactured, delivered and installed at various locations on campus.
Included in that total is a much smaller quantity with total of (60) standard size and (16) XL size needs delivered to three locations on campus for storage (Madrona Hall, Mercer Court and Lander Hall).
In addition to the new mattresses, awarded Vendor will be responsible for removing 1,624 existing mattresses from various locations combined to be recycled/reused off campus.
Included in the scope is some in building moving of mattresses. This entails removing, relocating, moving and placing 404 mattresses from Haggett Hall South Tower Student Rooms to Haggett Hall, South Tower Meeting Room located to downstairs Haggett Hall, South Tower Dining Level (DS005 and/or DS006). There are two elevators available for the move.
Vendors are welcome to provide a cost for an optional/alternate specification for a mattress that has two different firmness’ (one per side) so customers can flip it over per their preference.
Ordering quantities and delivery locations may differ slightly from this bid information. HFS will provide accurate information when placing the PO with the awarded Vendor. This is the clearest picture at this current time.
Awarded Vendor to reconfirm delivery dates with HFS Project Manager at least 3 weeks prior to each delivery /shipping.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Proposals will be reviewed and considered from companies meeting the following minimum criteria:
• Must be able to provide and describe recycling/reuse of existing mattresses.
• All mattresses must be assembled in the USA using parts already in stock or sourced from North American suppliers.
• Describe assembly location, supply chain and sources of major components as required in Section 1.23
• Awarded Vendor to provide on-site representative (i.e. Project Manager, Team Lead) during the duration of the mattress removal and installation
• Perform required background checks and only send team members to University of Washington for this project who have passed the background checks successfully.
• Review, sign and return Section 1.20 regarding minimum wage.
• All bidders must fill out, sign and return the University of Washington Covid Vaccine Declaration Attestation form and submit it to grams@uw.edu via email or with the bid submittal in the UW Ariba Sourcing system. Awarded Vendor(s) must also send a copy to vcontrol@uw.edu prior to work beginning.
