The State of Credit Unions: Credit unions are experiencing hard times. Throughout the United States, their numbers are decreasing and their margins are shrinking. People who are seeking a not-for-profit financial institution are finding fewer options. In this presentation, Marco Rosaire Rossi—the executive director for Washingtonians for Public Banking—will describe the state of credit unions in the United States, and how public banks, banks that are owned by public institutions, can help revive our nation’s credit union landscape.
