Outreach
OMWBE is providing a workshop in March to share tips and tricks for searching the database of certified businesses, saving the search results, sending relevant information to businesses, and tracking outreach efforts for reporting purposes and to assess its effectiveness.
Our hope is that this information will be useful for everyone, but Program Managers, Project Managers, Contract Managers, DEI Practitioners, and anyone on a procurement team will find this particularly interesting.

Forecasting
The April workshop will help you prepare for collecting information for planning and forecasting, using budget information and spending requests. The Department of Enterprise Services (DES) has established a template with the expectation that agencies will send data in October 2023. Some early effort will set you up for success later in the year.
In August, we get together to fill in the template and answer questions about what to include.
Our hope is that this information will be useful for everyone, but Program Managers, Project Managers, anyone involved in the budget process, Senior Leaders, and Procurement Team Managers will find this particularly interesting.

Subcontractor Inclusion Plans
OMWBE is rolling out the Access Equity application, which will require Prime contractors to enter payments to Subcontractors. Agencies can help Primes and themselves by requiring a subcontractor inclusion plan that collects information in alignment with the applications data fields.
Our hope is that this information will be useful for everyone, but Program Managers, Project Managers, Contract Managers, and anyone on a procurement team will find this particularly interesting.

Internal Processes
The Annual Lean Conference takes place in October. Be prepared to make the most of it by thinking about your procurement processes, ensuring that they include use of the tools for equity in public spending, and comply with DES’ Supplier Diversity Policy.
Our hope is that this information will be useful for everyone, but Lean/Continuous Improvement Practitioners, Change Managers, Program Managers, Project Managers, DEI Practitioners, and anyone on a procurement team will find this particularly interesting.
